Bio

Rita Vicari is a creative, painter and art mentor at Milan Art Institute. Born in Lipetsk, Russia, Rita moved to South Korea in her 20s where she lived for 4 years and discovered her passion for visual art before moving to the United States. Although her childhood was very happy, she and her two sisters were growing up during the 90s in a post-soviet atmosphere. In lack of much she learned how to admire simple things but it drove her desire to find or create something new and original. Her art took different forms – from poetry and dance choreography, she found her way back to painting.

As a big part of her artistic journey, Rita works as an art mentor for Milan Art Institute helping emerging artists and creators to start their professional career and find their unique voice as artists. Sharing experience and helping others has always been a big part of everything she does. She believes in community and that creatives working together can bring growth and prosperity to a society.

Rita Vicari has participated in different shows across the United States like Art Expo New York and The Other Art Fair by Saatchi Art. She had her solo exhibitions in Moscow, Russia; Seoul, South Korea and Texas, USA. Her art and story was mentioned in publication like Women United magazine, Canvas Rebel, Dallas Voyage magazine.

Rita’s work is collected across the United States as well as internationally. After a long time of traveling around the world and exploring different cultures, she is thrilled to be living and working in her home studio located small town of Allen, TX right next to the big city of Dallas with her husband and their son.

 Artist statement

As an artist, I strive to create works that capture the essence and the beauty of living life to its fullest. Through my paintings, I hope to inspire others that we all have the power to create our own destiny and become the best version of ourselves.  With each painting I dive deep into emotions, intentions, growth, self-actualization. As human beings we change under circumstances, social norms, trends and expectations. My art is geared towards finding self-truth and power within each one of us.

Working in mixed media allows me to build up layers, adding a lot of mark making that represents leaving our mark on this world by realizing our full potential. Exploring the contrast and balance between stillness and directional intentional movement, my subjects are surrounded with the white background which is a big symbol for me of putting yourself in the spotlight, not being afraid and becoming a protagonist of your own story.

In essence, my art is a celebration of life and a reflection of the beauty that surrounds us. Through my work, I hope to inspire others to live their lives to the fullest and embrace the limitless potential that lies within each and every one of us and the colorful journey that is life.
